Women’s sport-centric TV channel W-Sport has continued its global expansion push through a new deal for the Thai market with telecoms heavyweight AIS.

Going forward, the W-Sport 24/7 broadcast channel will be available on the AIS Play OTT app and linear televisions via the AIS Playbox channel.

AIS head of entertainment Rungtip Jarusiripipat commented: “This partnership reflects our commitment to providing diverse, world-class entertainment experiences on AIS PLAY, while also inspiring the next generation of female athletes in Thailand.”

This will include coverage of major women’s soccer leagues such as Germany’s Frauen-Bundesliga, Italy’s Serie A Femminile, the United States' USL Super League, and Sweden’s Damallsvenskan.

Jarusiripipat  continued: “With exclusive access to outstanding competitions and world-class events across multiple sports, we are confident that W-Sport will capture the hearts of sports fans nationwide."

Outside of soccer, W-Sport viewers will receive live coverage from the Super League Triathlon as well as selected live events in tennis, netball, field hockey, and athletics.

W-Sport’s content includes live and delayed event coverage as well as magazine programming and documentaries.

Elsewhere in Asia, W-Sport is available in Hong Kong on Now TV, in Malaysia on Astro, and Indonesia via IndieHome and Dens TV.

Meanwhile, in Europe, W-Sport is accessible in several countries across multiple platforms, including in France (Free), Portugal (MEO and NOS), the Netherlands (KPN), Belgium (Telenet, Proximus, and Orange), Luxembourg (Post TV), and Turkey (SSportPlus, TiviBu, and Turksat Kablo).

In sub-Saharan Africa, W-Sport can be found in both English and French across more than 30 territories, including on Canal Plus.

The network, which includes the first dedicated 24/7 channel entirely focused on women’s sports, was initially launched in July 2021 by Mickey O’Rourke – also the co-founder and chief executive of the Premier Sports UK and Irish pay-TV channels – alongside Butler, a former senior vice-president at Fox Sports.
