CDW will be responsible for the IT infrastructure platform that will power the 100th anniversary contest at Adare Manor, Limerick, Ireland, from September 17 to 19, 2027.

With the new deal, CDW builds on its role as official IT services supplier to the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, with an expanded remit for 2027.

The company will act as the prime IT infrastructure delivery partner across the full lifecycle of the event, from initial design and build, through live operations during match week, to full decommissioning and asset recovery once the trophy has been lifted.

CDW’s scope for the 2027 Ryder Cup includes the deployment and management of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) wi-fi network, dual onsite network operational centres, cyber security and HPE infrastructure services, a technical operations centre, central technical authority, and sustainable asset lifecycle management.

Penny Williams, managing director of CDW UK & International, said: “In Rome in 2023 we showed what is possible when you combine best-in-class technology with deep services capability; in 2027 we are going further, taking prime responsibility for the entire technology platform that allows the event to run securely, reliably and at full global broadcast scale.”

Richard Atkinson, chief Ryder Cup officer at the European Tour Group, added: “The Ryder Cup sets a benchmark for live sporting experience, and the technology behind it has to be every bit as world-class as the competition on the course.

“For 2027 we needed a supplier capable of taking end-to-end accountability for the IT infrastructure, from deployment of the network and security centre design, through live operations, to post-event recovery, and doing it at the scale and resilience this event demands.

“CDW has the engineering depth, the integration expertise and the operational discipline to deliver exactly that, and we are delighted to be extending our relationship for 2027.”

CDW is also the official technology solutions advisor to the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions under a long-term partnership that is currently due to expire in 2026.

In terms of recent Ryder Cup commercial deals, multinational financial services platform Stripe was named as a worldwide partner for the 2027 and 2029 events last month, while sustainable packaging manufacturer Smurfit Westrock joined in the same top-tier category in March for the next three editions.

Other worldwide partners of the Ryder Cup include logistics business DP World, energy company Aon, watch brand Rolex, automobile manufacturer BMW, banking firm Citi, and IT consultancy Capgemini.
