The Republic Bank financial institution in the Caribbean has extended its contract as title sponsor of the regional Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Through a three-year deal extension unveiled today, Republic Bank will continue as the men's tournament's title sponsor - and official bank - through the 2028 edition.

The two parties first partnered up in 2016, with the bank then taking over title sponsorship duties in 2023. GlobalData Sport has valued that latter tie-up as being worth $2 million per season to the CPL.

Motorcycle manufacturer Hero was the CPL’s previous title sponsor, meanwhile, between 2020 and 2022.

In addition to its title sponsorship of the six-team men's CPL, Republic Bank will also continue its commitment to the Women's CPL and to its "expanding grassroots cricket investment."

The tie-up has been announced with the final of the 2025 CPL having taken place earlier today, with the Trinbago Knight Riders having beaten the Amazon Warriors.

Pete Russell, chief executive of the Caribbean Premier League, has said: "We are delighted to welcome back Republic Bank as the title sponsor and official bank of the Caribbean Premier League. They have been a phenomenal partner of the tournament, and their involvement ensures three more years of investment into putting together what is one of the world's great cricket leagues."

Richard S. Sammy, a Republic Bank vice president, added: "This partnership is more than just a sponsorship; it's a shared vision to enable a top-tier cricket experience for fans while providing digital-first banking solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Caribbean people."
