M Plus, the live sports streaming platform in Macau, has secured exclusive rights to English soccer’s top-flight Premier League and prestigious FA Cup knockout competition for the next three seasons.

The agreement covers the upcoming 2025-26 season, as well as the 2026-27 and 2027-28 campaigns.

M Plus will provide live coverage of Premier League and FA Cup matches via its M Plus app, with commentary in English and Cantonese. 

In addition, the platform will offer supporting content, including highlights, news updates, and post-match analysis.

The deal for the FA Cup is a renewal for M Plus, and coverage will begin with the third round and continue until the final.

M Plus has teamed up with long-standing partner Macau Cable Television (MCTV) to expand coverage of its live sports offering in the country.

MCTV will carry four dedicated channels showcasing the content.

M Plus announced its rights acquisitions alongside MCTV and Macau Slot, the territory’s operator of legal sports betting. Macau Slot’s chief betting officer, Harry Lan, confirmed that it has partnered with M Plus on its English soccer rights.

Alan Yung, vice president for strategic partnerships of M Plus, also revealed a collaboration with bars, restaurants, hotels, and other commercial venues that have a licence to show M Plus sports content on their premises.

The M Plus streaming service was founded in 2017 and has an extensive soccer rights portfolio that includes Spain’s LaLiga, Italy’s Serie A, the German Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, Japan’s J. League, and Australia’s A League. It also has rights in Macau for North American basketball’s NBA.

In China, streamer iQiyi Sports’ contract ran from 2021-22 to 2024-25 in a deal that also included Macau. Migu, a subsidiary of China Mobile, has taken over the streaming rights in China for the 2025-26 to 2027-28 cycle.

The new Premier League season begins on Friday (August 15) with champions Liverpool taking on Bournemouth in the opening game.
