Migu, the state-owned Chinese streaming service, has secured exclusive rights in the country to Spanish soccer’s top-tier LaLiga in a deal covering all games for the next four seasons.

Under the deal, Migu becomes LaLiga’s new media partner in Mainland China for the 2026-27 to 2029-30 campaigns, with the service to provide live coverage of all 380 LaLiga matches per season, while also showing highlights, video-on-demand content, and short-form clips throughout the season.

Migu’s live game coverage, which starts on August 15, will include Chinese-language localization, while its additional content will be designed to bring Chinese audiences closer to the action.

The deal builds on a previous three-year partnership between LaLiga and Migu, which saw Migu air all LaLiga matches for the 2022-23 to 2024-25 seasons.

Meanwhile, the new deal comes as LaLiga looks to capitalize on the success of its players at the men’s 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the final between Spain and Argentina featuring 24 LaLiga players out of the 52 players across both squads.

The Spanish national team featured 17 LaLiga players, while Argentina included seven.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas said: “It [the deal] comes at a particularly exciting time for LaLiga following the outstanding performances of our players at the World Cup. 

“China remains a strategic market for LaLiga, and Migu’s scale, technological capabilities and deep understanding of Chinese audiences make it the ideal partner to build on this momentum. With every match available through Migu, Chinese fans will be able to follow these world-class players, clubs, and rivalries throughout the entire season.”

The deal adds to Migu’s growing slate of soccer offerings, which saw it provide live coverage of the recently ended FIFA 2026 World Cup national teams competition as part of a sub-licensing agreement with state broadcaster CCTV.

Migu also has a four-year rights deal with the Asian Football Confederation regional body for its national team and club competitions through 2028-29 and German soccer’s Bundesliga.

The streaming service previously had rights to England’s top-tier Premier League, the Saudi Pro League, and Italy’s Serie A.

This year has seen Migu strengthen its portfolio, having renewed its rights agreement with women’s tennis’ elite WTA Tour for the 2026 season in January, before consolidating its mixed martial arts offering via new agreements with the Professional Fighters League and UFC.
