The UEC, the European Cycling Union, has announced a new agreement with Golazo, which will see that Belgian sports events agency organize several upcoming championship events for the governing body through 2032.
As the UEC’s technical and organizational partner, Golazo will organize the Road European Championships in 2031 and 2032, the Cyclo-Cross European Championships from 2027 to 2032, the Gravel European Championships from 2029 to 2032, and the Granfondo European Championships from 2026 to 2032.
As part of the agreement, Golazo will aim to retain a high level of quality for the events as the disciplines evolve “both in terms of participation and international visibility.”
Golazo has extensive experience in organizing major cycling events, most recently co-organizing last week’s 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda alongside Amaury Sport Organization, organizer of cycling’s iconic Tour de France.
The company also co-organized the 2021 UCI Road World Championships in Flanders, Belgium, and staged the UCI World Tour’s Benelux tour.
UEC president Enrico Della Casa said: “This agreement represents a fundamental step forward for the development of European cycling.
“Collaborating with Golazo, one of the most important international players in the field of sports event co-ordination, guarantees our European Championships a first-rate level of organization and solid, sustainable growth prospects.”
Golazo chief executive Bob Verbeeck added: “The fact that it [the agreement] involves all four disciplines makes it even more interesting and confirms the strength of our approach across all areas of cycling.
“Together with the UEC, we aim to inspire all of Europe with top-level championships.”
Rights to air all UEC competitions in Europe are held by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the umbrella body of public-service broadcasters, under an eight-year agreement running through 2029.
Production of the events will be delivered by Eurovision Sport, the sports arm of the EBU, and covers all events in the European Championship, including the road, track, mountain bike, BMX racing, BMX freestyle, and cyclo-cross disciplines.
EBU members that have committed to broadcasting UEC European Championships during the new period include VRT & RTBF (Belgium), RAI (Italy), NOS (Netherlands), NRK (Norway), TVP (Poland), RTV (Slovakia), and SRG/SSR (Switzerland).
