Motorcycling's top-tier MotoGP series has unveiled a new commercial deal with Spanish petrofuel company Repsol, to get underway in 2026.

Through a tie-up unveiled today, Madrid-based Repsol will put its name to one MotoGP Grand Prix each season as a title sponsor, and receive a prominent trackside presence throughout the calendar, the series and its commercial representatives Dorna Sports have said.

In addition, Repsol becomes the official lubricant supplier to both the Moto2 and Moto3 support series, which, up until this point, have had German lubricants firm Liqui Moly as a partner in that category.

Repsol will also "launch a new range of competition products," following this tie-up.

This deal comes with Repsol having been the principal partner of the Repsol Honda team in MotoGP between 1995 and 2024, before that partnership came to an end at the conclusion of last year's MotoGP campaign.

Through those years, Repsol had primary branding on all Honda bikes, with branding also extending to race suits worn by Honda riders.

Repsol last extended its Honda partnership in 2022 on a two-year deal through the end of the 2024 campaign. GlobalData Sport - at that point - estimated the value of that sponsorship renewal to be as much as $16.5 million per year ($33 million total).

In terms of MotoGP commercial activity, mid-September saw Liqui Moly named as the title sponsor of the 2025 Australian Grand Prix - which took place last week, on October 19.

The lubricant giant already took naming rights to its home event at Sachsenring in Germany earlier this season, through a tie-up running through the 2027 campaign.

The 2026 MotoGP season is provisionally scheduled to begin in Thailand at the start of March and then come to a conclusion with a race in Valencia, Spain, in late November.

There are three races left on the 2025 season calendar, meanwhile.
