The Qatar Stars League, that country's premier domestic soccer competition, has extended its main sponsorship deal with the Doha Bank financial institution until 2030. That bank - which is not majority state-owned - will carry on as the naming rights partner and general main sponsor of the 12-team league, in a deal renewal unveiled yesterday. The extension comes following the first season of the initial three-year deal between the two parties, which had been due to run until mid-2028. Now, another two campaigns have been added, taking the length of the time that the competition will be called the Doha Bank Stars League to five years in total. The focus during the next phase of the partnership will be on enhancing the overall commercial value of the QSL, as well as strengthening the fan experience available at the games. Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari, the QSL's executive director of sales and marketing, commented: "We're proud to extend our strategic partnership with Doha Bank, which embodies a successful model of integration between national institutions in supporting Qatar sport. This extension underscores the mutual trust between the two parties and the successes achieved during the first season." Prior to Doha Bank taking over title sponsorship rights for the premier soccer competition, this prime inventory was filled by  Qatari state-owned telecoms firm Ooredoo, up until the end of 2024-25. Other league sponsors include global brands like Adidas, TikTok, Ticketmaster, and Toyota. The 2026-27 Doha Bank Stars League will get underway on August 20, with A-Wakrah taking on Qatar SC.
