Indonesian soccer fans will be able to watch all matches of German Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach free-to-air (FTA) through heavyweight media firm MNC, with the team now featuring the league's first-ever Indonesian player, Kevin Diks.

The deal, part of a wider agreement between MNC and the Bundesliga International arm of the league, will see all Monchengladbach fixtures during the 2025-26 season available FTA through the RCTI and iNews MNC channels.

Diks represents the Indonesian national team and signed for Monchengladbach from Denmark's FC Copenhagen earlier this year.

The overall extension between Bundesliga International and MNC sees all nine games each matchday continue to be shown via MNC's array of channels, with four made available FTA, including the Monchengladbach fixtures.

Elsewhere, the Telkomsel Indonesian telecommunications firm has also extended its deal to cover the Bundesliga next season, through the AllPlay Sports Channel on IndiHome TV.

The previous deal through which MNC covered Bundesliga action was announced last August, and also featured four of the nine fixtures each gameday being made available FTA (pay-TV and streaming coverage was also included in that tie-up).

Peer Naubert, chief executive at Bundesliga International, has said: "The Bundesliga is by far the fastest growing of the European leagues in Indonesia, with a ten per cent jump in both interest and followers compared even to last season.

"Extending our broadcast deals with two trusted partners only reinforces our position as a leader in the market.”

Over the last few weeks, multiple broadcast deals have been struck for the 2025-26 Bundesliga campaign, which started on August 22.

This number includes a two-season extension in Canada with the DAZN subscription service, as well as MCG Group securing rights in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Elsewhere in Asia, meanwhile, deals have been struck with state-owned media and telecoms heavyweight Viettel in Vietnam and free-to-air channel PPTV in Thailand.

In the UK, a new broadcast mix of partners has been unveiled, including a blend of linear, pay-TV, OTT, and free-to-air distribution.
