Paul Calder has left his position as director for media sales at Two Circles after less than 18 months with the international sports agency.

He was appointed by the UK-based firm in August 2024 to lead the media rights sales process for European soccer’s UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) pan-continental club competition.

In July 2024, Two Circles was appointed as the exclusive agent for commercial and media rights associated with UEFA European women’s soccer, for the 2025-30 cycle.

Leading the company’s first-ever media rights project, Calder played a key role in securing deals with major broadcasters, including Disney+ across Europe, CBS and ESPN Deportes in the US, BBC in the UK, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in over 20 territories, TV4 (Sweden), L'Equipe (France), and ESPN (Africa, Oceania and Latin America).

It is claimed that the deals doubled the revenues for UC3, the joint venture between UEFA and the European Football Clubs body.

In a post on LinkedIn, Calder said: “After an exciting time at Two Circles, it is time to move on. Immensely proud of our work on the UEFA Women's Champions League, and thankful to have been given the opportunity to lead Two Circles' first-ever media rights project ... a remarkable run of deals doubling UC3's revenues while massively expanding FTA reach and increasing production standards to the levels UWCL deserves.”

Calder joined Two Circles after spending 22 years at FIFA, soccer’s global governing body, as a senior media rights executive.

He was at FIFA between 2001 and 2023, stepping down as the organization’s head of media rights sales and distribution in October of that year.

During his time at Two Circles, Calder also worked on Grand Slam Track, the new athletics league launched by legend Michael Johnson.
