DAZN, the international sports OTT powerhouse, has continued to bolster its soccer portfolio in the Spanish market, adding Dutch soccer’s top-flight Eredivisie to its offering.

The broadcaster will showcase all 306 games of the Eredivisie season, nine matches per gameweek, including all matches from the traditional ‘Big Three’ teams (Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, and Feyenoord).

Additionally, DAZN will also showcase the KNVB Cup knockout compeititon, the annual Dutch Super Cup game (between the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup Winners), and the 12-team Women’s Eredivisie, the latter of which alone has 132 games in total.

International media rights for the Eredivisie are distributed by global sports marketing agency IMG in a deal running through the 2029-30 campaign.

The agency has sold global media rights to the Dutch league for over 20 years.

This agreement began on August 2 with the 2026 Dutch Super Cup, which AZ Alkmaar won, defeating PSV Eindhoven 4-0.

The Eredivisie season proper will begin on August 7, when newly promoted SC Cambuur will face Excelsior Rotterdam, and will run through its May 23 finale.

For Spanish viewers, AFC Ajax in particular are well loved in Barcelona, particularly, due to historical links over the iconic Johan Cruyff, who played for both teams, as well as a string of more recent names to grace both sides such as Ronald Koeman, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Patrick Kluivert, Luis Suarez, Frenkie de Jong, and more.

In terms of Spanish representation in the Eredivisie in the 2026-27 campaign, the most prominent example is centre-back Yarek Gasiorowski of three-time reigning champions PSV Eindhoven, while Feyenoord’s pair of recent signees Mika Marmol and Nacho Ferri may also be of interest to fans in Iberia.

This complements a domestic media rights package for DAZN that already includes the top-flight LaLiga, second-tier LaLiga Hypermotion, women’s top-flight Liga F, and most recently, the men’s third-tier Primera Federacion, alongside Spanish national team action also, making it a major destination for domestic soccer fans.

In terms of other recent DAZN activity in Spain, meanwhile, in June the service announced a multi-year deal through which it will cover French soccer's Ligue 1 in the former market.

DAZN is now exclusively showcasing every game from the top-flight competition, with two matches each week broadcast with Spanish-language commentary.

That deal ensures that DAZN holds the rights to all of Europe’s so-called ‘Big Five’ leagues (the English Premier League, French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, and LaLiga) in the Spanish territory.

With the ‘Big 5’ league secured, DAZN is now padding out its offering with Europe’s other big soccer competitions.
