North America’s Major League Baseball (MLB) has named video communications firm Zoom as the presenting partner of the 2024 London Series, a two-game affair featuring the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies.

The tie-up has been unveiled with the games to take place on June 8 and 9, (Saturday and Sunday) at the London Stadium in the UK capital.

This serves as an enhancement of MLB’s existing deal with Zoom, first partnering ahead of the 2023 season with a multi-year, global sponsorship agreement that established the brand as the presenting partner of league-wide replay reviews.

Ths new agreement aims to increase brand awareness of the newly launched Zoom Workplace, the company’s AI-powered collaboration platform.

Zoom’s logo will appear on the batting helmets of each club, TV-visible signage, integrations in national broadcasts, and signage throughout the interior and exterior of London Stadium.

Zoom Workplace branding will also be featured throughout all ancillary events leading up to the weekend series.

Ben Torres Ezrick, head of brand marketing at Zoom, said: “Zoom is honored to be the presenting partner of the 2024 London Series. We look forward to the rest of the 2024 MLB season and are excited to see the growth of our partnership.”

Uzma Rawn, MLB senior vice president of global corporate partnerships, added: “Baseball has always enjoyed a global following but MLB has experienced tremendous growth in our international popularity thanks to our grassroots efforts and strategically increased number of series played abroad.

“This important commitment to the London Series from Zoom shows the value that our international events hold and how much they continue to grow.”

The series will mark MLB’s third played in London, following the inaugural series held in 2019 between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees, and two games in 2023 between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 2024 London Series presented by Zoom Workplace is part of the MLB World Tour, the MLB and MLBPA’s annual international tour featuring regular season and exhibition matches played in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

In April, the commissioner of Japanese baseball revealed that the first matches of next year's Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season will take place in Japan on March 19 and 20, 2025.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, a team featuring Japanese players Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani, and the Cubs, are likely to be involved.
