The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU) governing body has struck a major multi-year sponsorship deal with the Arnold Clark UK car retailer.

The tie-up, unveiled earlier today, gives the brand front-of-shirt sponsorship rights across the Scotland men’s representative team. In addition, Arnold Clark becomes the title partner of the Scottish men’s and women’s Premiership competitions, from the start of 2024-25.

The car retailer will also provide vehicles “to Scottish Rugby employees who work in the community game throughout the country.”

The previous men’s national team front-of-shirt sponsor in Scottish rugby union was an Arnold Clark rival, Peter Vardy. GlobalData Sport has estimated that deal – which began in mid-2021 – as being worth $5 million in total.

Other principal SRU partners include Scottish Gas, BT, and Macron.

Arnold Clark, meanwhile, also acts as a title partner of the women’s soccer national team tournament in the UK that bears its name.
