BigMat, the building materials retailer, has been named an official partner of the inaugural 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.
The deal, announced today (July 10), makes BigMat the official building products retail partner of the event, which will run between August 3 and 13, combining 13 existing UCI World Championships into one event across 11 days of competition for the first time.
Trudy Lindblade, chief executive of the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships, added: “With the final preparations underway for the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships, we are pleased to have BigMat join the Cycling Worlds family as an official partner.
“Having already provided significant support at previous major cycling events, we welcome its continued investment in the sport as we prepare to deliver the biggest cycling event ever.”
The president of BigMat International, Fabrice Maud, added: "As far as cycling is concerned, we are delighted to be able to renew our support for this sport, which is so dear to all the members of our brand.
“Supporting cycling is also part of our continued promotion of the bike as an eco-responsible way of getting around that helps to protect our planet, not to mention the positive impact that physical activity has on the well-being of every human being.

The event is the first-ever combined World Cycling Championships which will be held every four years.
The BBC, the UK’s public service broadcaster, has the full domestic broadcast rights to the Cycling World Championships.
Haute-Savoie in France has been selected to host the second edition of the event in 2027, which will comprise a total of 19 disciplines with the addition of gravel, enduro, pump track, junior track, cycling esport, and polo-bike.
BigMat previously partnered with various UCI World Championships in France in 2022, covering mountain biking in Les Gets, BMX Racing in Nantes, and track in Saint-Quentin-les-Yvelines.
