Media and entertainment giant Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) Max streaming service will be the new home of US golf’s elite PGA Tour in Spain.

The announcement marks the PGA Tour’s first television network change in Spain in more than two decades.

The WBD group had already owned the television rights to the PGA Tour since 2019, but for the last five seasons, it had a sub-licensing agreement with Movistar, the Spanish TV network owned by Telefonica, for the transfer of the broadcast rights of the tournaments.

Movistar had broadcast all seasons of the circuit since 2002, however, WBD and Movistar failed to reach a new agreement on this occasion.

The agreement will debut with the Sentry Tournament, which starts today, (January 2), in Maui, on the island of Hawaii, United States.
