Vast Data receives expanded car placement in Williams extension

The company's logo will feature on the car mirror stems and team kit as part of the new deal.

The Williams Formula 1 (F1) motor racing team has renewed its sponsorship deal with Vast Data, the AI data platform.

Under the multi-year extension, the company will continue as an official partner of the team and have its logo featured on the car mirror stems and team kit, in addition to existing placements on driver and mechanic overalls and the car nose.

The renewal builds on the previous one-and-a-half-year tie-up between the two parties.

Since the partnership first launched in 2024, Vast Data has supported Williams Racing to manage and scale data-intensive workloads across simulations, analytics, and high-performance computing.

“Their knowledge and insight have played an invaluable role in our progress this year and will continue to be important as we fight for future World Championships. We look forward to building on our partnership, including through new trackside initiatives and the ongoing expansion of our storage solutions.”

Marianne Budnik, Vast Data’s chief marketing officer, added: “Motorsport is the ultimate stress test for data. Every lap produces a torrent of information that can define the outcome of a race.

“With Williams Racing, we’ve used our platform to turn massive volumes of raw information into actionable intelligence, enabling the team to push onwards onto their technology and data-driven transformation. Extending this partnership means continuing to help Williams unlock speed, efficiency, and insight.”

Vast Data's sports portfolio also includes a deal with North American ice-hockey’s NHL, signed last year. 

Earlier this year, Williams Racing secured their first title sponsor in five years, bringing in Australian tech firm Atlassian.

This season, the team is enjoying its most successful campaign since 2016, currently sitting fifth in the Constructors’ Championship.

The 2025 F1 season has just four races remaining, with the Brazilian Grand Prix next taking place on November 9. That will be followed by races in Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.
