Casper Stylsvig, the experienced sports commercial executive who recently left his role with English soccer giants Chelsea, has been hired by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) horse racing organization.

He will serve as executive director of sports business for HKJC and take up his new position on January 15, 2026.

Stylsvig will be a member of the board of management and report directly to the club’s chief executive, Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges.

In his new role, Stylsvig will oversee the HKJC’s sports business portfolio and “drive end-to-end commercial growth across horse racing, football, lottery and emerging sporting opportunities.”

He will particularly focus on growing the club's non-wagering and wagering-related income streams. His responsibilities include driving the commercialisation of the club's current assets as well as creating new income streams from sponsorships and partnerships.

Stylsvig will be responsible for strategic marketing to attract and retain different customer segments, as well as leading HKJC's multi-billion-dollar Racecourse Master Plan project and spearheading new ventures, including global growth opportunities.

In addition, he will manage the sports wagering portfolio “to channel wagering demand for community benefit.” 

Stylsvig has been tasked with developing Hong Kong racing as a global sports brand and transforming the club’s sports business. He will collaborate closely with other board members to deliver the next phase of the company's growth.  

The Dane departed Chelsea last month after spending two years as the club’s chief revenue officer.

Stylsvig joined Chelsea from Italian giants AC Milan, where he was also CRO. He has spent much of his career in soccer and also had stints at Barcelona, Manchester United, and Fulham.
