Genius Sports, the international sports data and technology firm, has struck a new agreement with Swiss soccer’s SFL league organizer.

Beginning with the 2026-27 campaign, clubs in the 12-team top-flight Swiss Super League will benefit from the AI-powered GeniusIQ platform applied at their stadia.

The partnership is focused on the retrieval and collation of data, as well as the generation of more accurate insights and predictive analytics surrounding commercial activation and on-pitch activity.

This will span broadcast coverage, ‘data-driven sponsorship activations’, and the semi-automatic offside on-field technology.

GeniusIQ was launched in 2024 and is already in use by several major global sports competitions, most notably soccer’s English Premier League, French Ligue 1, Belgian Pro League, and basketball’s WNBA.

The deal also serves a sporting function, with SFL chief executive Claudius Schäfer explaining: “This partnership marks an important step in strengthening the data foundations of Swiss professional football.

“By providing our clubs with positional tracking data alongside event data and video feeds, we are enabling them to analyze the game in greater depth and support their sporting decision-making.”

Genius Sports is already in partnership with the European Leagues regional body (of which the SFL is a part) for betting data rights and to roll out GeniusIQ across the continent’s top flights.

The current 2025-26 Super League campaign has been the first under the new title sponsorship agreement with online retailer Brack, a five-year deal in all.

Brack was formerly the title sponsor of Switzerland's second-tier Challenge League, which now has catering and food delivery service Dieci AG in that position.

Against the odds, FC Thun, who were only promoted to the top-flight at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, lead the Super League standings after 33 of 38 games, and are one win away from securing a first-ever championship.
