Rai Italia, the country’s state broadcaster, has secured a deal to show highlights from its Serie A domestic soccer top-flight in international markets.
The agreement also includes rights to show highlights from the Coppa Italia cup competition, from the quarter-finals onwards, and the Italian Super Cup.
The contract covers all global markets outside of Italy.
Highlights will be shown on a new edition of Rai’s La Giostra del Gol programme, which will make a return and air every Tuesday across five continents on the Rai Internazionale channel.
Maria Rita Grieco, Rai Italia director, said: “I am extremely pleased with this agreement, and I thank the company and the sports rights department for supporting me in what was one of my first requests as director, as well as Rai Sport for what will be a fruitful collaboration throughout the season.”
The 2025-26 Serie A season got underway on August 23.
In Italy, the league is shown by global sports streaming service DAZN and pay-TV giant Sky Italia.
Serie A has concluded several rights deals in international markets in recent weeks, including a renewed agreement with the Starzplay OTT platform in the Middle East and North Africa for another three seasons, and a new tie-up with CazeTV, the Brazilian sports streaming service, for this season.
DAZN also recently picked up rights in several international markets, including the UK and the US.
