Spanish sports agency Mediapro has been appointed by the Amazon Prime Video streaming service to provide live production services for its coverage of basketball’s NBA within the Spanish market.

The production will begin on October 24 with Prime Video’s first live ‘NBA on Prime’ offering, “supported by a large-scale deployment of technical resources and specialized professionals.”

Mediapro has set up multiple commentary booths and a studio, which will be used for several NBA broadcasts, including pre-game and post-game programming.

The NBA currently features only one Spanish player, Santi Aldama of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Starting with the upcoming 2025-26 season, Amazon will hold a package of NBA rights for the next 11 years in the US and several global markets.

Amazon is paying $1.8 billion for the long-term deal and will distribute NBA games globally on Prime Video, with an expanded package of games in select territories, including Mexico, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the UK, and Ireland.

This expanded package includes a minimum of 20 additional primetime regular-season games each year, a Conference Finals series each year, and the NBA Finals in six of the 11 years.

Prime Video has also become the NBA’s strategic partner and third-party global destination of NBA League Pass – the league’s DTC subscription service, with expanded distribution rights for the platform in the US and internationally.

The deal with Amazon expands Mediapro’s vast portfolio of sports partnerships. The group operates across four continents and delivers services to several major sports confederations, including FIBA, UEFA, FIFA, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, and AFC.
