McLaren and Dell Technologies renew long-term partnership

The tech firm continues as the official innovation partner of McLaren's Formula 1 and Sim Racing teams.

The McLaren Racing organization has extended its partnership with Dell Technologies, the US-based computer technology company.

The renewal will see the tech firm continue as the official innovation partner of the McLaren Formula 1 team and McLaren F1 Sim Racing team.

The partnership, which began in 2018, provides infrastructure to support McLaren in the design, development, and operation of the race cars throughout the season.

Dell’s technology is used across the organisation, from engineering and manufacturing to real-time operations during the race weekends.

The company will continue to provide McLaren Racing with computing tools, including PCs, and infrastructure.

Dell will support the organization with data analysis, simulation work, and day-to-day operations for team members at the factory, on the road, and at the track. Dell hardware also powers McLaren’s esports activity for the McLaren F1 Sim Racing team.

McLaren also uses the Dell AI Factory, including Dell PowerEdge servers and end‑to‑end AI capabilities.

Dell Technologies branding will continue to be present on the McLaren Formula 1 race cars throughout the 2026 season and beyond.

Their support strengthens the way we work across the organisation, helping us stay agile and competitive in a sport where every detail matters. Extending this relationship reflects the confidence we have in what we can achieve together.” 

McLaren, the incumbent champion of Formula, has announced several commercial deals ahead of the 2026 season over the past month.

Most recently, the UK-based outfit agreed a multi-year partnership with security and AI operations company Rubrik.

Before that, the team partnered with French company Schneider Electric and digital network provider Hedera Foundation, while extending with professional services firm Deloitte and Dutch paint and coating manufacturing company AkzoNobel.

Most notably, McLaren last month unveiled German sportswear giant Puma as their new technical sponsor to replace outgoing UK brand Castore, to produce the kit for all McLaren racing teams.

Mastercard will become the team's naming partner at the start of the 2026 season, which gets underway with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8.
