Dubai Media has announced a deal to broadcast European basketball’s top-tier EuroLeague across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) for the next five seasons.

The Emirati media group will provide coverage through its flagship Dubai Sports TV channel across the region on a free-to-air basis.

The deal was brokered by international sports and entertainment agency IMG, Euroleague Basketball’s long-term commercial rights distribution partner.

Under the agreement, Dubai Sports TV will broadcast all games featuring EuroLeague debutants Dubai Basketball Club as well as a curated selection of the top games from across the league every week.

Special focus will be placed on fixtures featuring Dubai BC, with a team outside Europe added to the semi-closed league for the first time this season as part of an expanded 20-team format.

As well as Dubai BC, Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv, as well as Spain’s Valencia Basket, will join as the other new entrants.

The EuroLeague also includes established clubs such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos, and reigning champions Fenerbahce.

The 2025–26 EuroLeague season tips off on September 30, with Dubai BC making their first appearance at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai against Serbia’s Partizan Belgrade.

Euroleague Basketball’s deal with Dubai Media expands its recent links to the MENA region. Last season, for example, the EuroLeague Final Four season climax was staged in Abu Dhabi.

Paulius Motiejunas, Euroleague Basketball CEO, has said: “I would like to thank Dubai Media and the Dubai Sports Council for their commitment to making the EuroLeague accessible to the widest possible audience in the MENA region.

“In recent years, we have prioritized our strategic goal of expanding the EuroLeague into new territories, creating opportunities for more fans to experience the competition. Following last season’s Final Four in Abu Dhabi and this season’s debut of Dubai Basketball, this agreement is both a milestone and a significant step in our global growth strategy, ensuring the highest broadcast standards for fans across the region.”

Earlier this year, Euroleague Basketball also agreed a global partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism.

IMG has secured several rights deals for the competition recently, including extensions in Spain and Italy with pay-TV operators Movistar and Sky Italia, respectively.
