Amazon Prime Video, the streaming service of the e-commerce giant, will join media giant CBS and Disney-owned sports broadcaster ESPN to provide domestic coverage for golf’s iconic Masters tournament from next year.

The deal, struck with the Augusta National Golf Club, will see Amazon Prime stream two additional hours of first-and-second-round coverage on Thursday and Friday of Masters week, complementing coverage by long-time broadcasters CBS Sports and ESPN.

From the 2026 edition, Prime Video’s broadcast from 1pm to 3 pm (ET) will lead into ESPN’s coverage from 3pm to 7.30pm (ET) on those two days. CBS will continue to air the tournament on Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to 7pm (ET), while CBS-owned Paramount+ will live stream the event from 12pm to 2pm (ET).

Fred Ridley, chairman of August National and the Masters, said: “Working alongside Amazon in this capacity is an exciting opportunity for the Masters Tournament and its fans.

“We are proud of our longstanding partnerships with CBS Sports and ESPN, who have set the highest standard for broadcast coverage of the Masters. The addition of Amazon will only further our abilities to expand and enhance how the Tournament is presented and enjoyed.”

The Masters is annually the first and most-watched of the four major golf tournaments. CBS has held domestic broadcast rights for the tournament since 1956, the longest-running single-network broadcast partnership in sports.

The final round of this year’s tournament on April 13, which saw golfing icon Rory McIlroy triumph, drew a 12.71 million viewer average for CBS.

The tiebreaker between McIlroy and Justin Rose saw the viewership peak at 19.54 million, up massively compared to the 12.56 million peak in 2024, showing the wide appeal of watching McIlroy become only the sixth person to secure a career Grand Slam, one that was 14 years in the making.

The rights add to Amazon’s growing live sports portfolio in the US, having secured American football’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ NFL games, as well as NBA basketball games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays. Other live sports rights include basketball’s WNBA and soccer’s NWSL.

Jay Marine, head of Prime Video for US and Global Sports, said: “It’s an honor for all of us to become a broadcast partner of the Masters Tournament and to provide four additional hours of coverage.

“We are humbled and proud to begin our relationship with Augusta National Golf Club and cannot wait to get started.”
