Sportfive, the international sports marketing agency, has today (April 11) announced the acquisition of Wolfe Solutions, the US-based sports and entertainment marketing firm.

As part of the acquisition, Wolfe Solutions will be integrated into Sportfive’s consulting division and “expand its existing business and capabilities”.

Sportfive said the deal is part of its new strategy following the announcement of its new consulting leadership team of Brendan Moynihan, Josh Wollock, and Lindsay Brinkmann.

Wolfe Solutions founder Jason Wolfe will join the leadership team and assume the title of executive vice-president of consulting.

The company, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, will be rebranded to Sportfive and the team will be fully integrated into the agency’s existing consulting team.

Sportfive also will expand its footprint in the US with the office in Columbia.

Wolfe Solutions assists brands with managing and maximizing sponsorship investments and focuses on activation, measurement, and optimization.

In January, Sportfive named Moynihan and Wollock as executive vice presidents of consulting, while Brinkmann took up a role as senior vice-president.

The senior management restructure was part of the company’s plan to further integrate the consulting division into its larger global business across multiple divisions, most notably its global sales and activation businesses.

At the time the agency stated it will look to enhance its consulting capabilities, which will include “key new hires and exploring strategic acquisitions”.

The division provides sports and entertainment marketing advisory services and customized sports partnerships solutions to consumer brands.

Last December, Sportfive unveiled a new senior leadership team for its wider US business with Neil Glat and Steve Loy named co-presidents.

Loy said: “When we announced the new leadership team for our consulting division, we planned to take definitive steps to expand the capabilities we could offer current and prospective clients.

“The acquisition of Wolfe Solutions is an important step in that process, and we’re excited to welcome Jason Wolfe and his entire team to Sportfive and expand the marketing services we’re able to offer to brands.”

Wolfe added: "The team at Wolfe Solutions is thrilled to join Sportfive and become part of this dynamic global agency.

“Sportfive is an established leader across multiple segments of sports and entertainment, and the opportunity to combine our team with their consulting team is an opportunity we are all excited about. This will drive value for our clients today and in the future.”

Sportfive’s business in the US consists of divisions across commercial, consulting, digital, experiential marketing and production, golf talent and events, and media.

The agency provides services to a variety of US-based rightsholders in sports, including the Boston Marathon, Chicago Bulls, New York Jets, Los Angeles Lakers, LPGA, PGA Tour, and USA Rugby.
