Hospitality package provider Daimani has been hired by DAZN Group, the global sports media firm and sports streaming service parent company, to integrate a ticketing marketplace into its app.

Under the agreement, Daimani’s technology will be integrated into the DAZN app to give users a means of purchasing both tickets and hospitality packages. It will feature a shared wallet, personalization options, and one-click purchasing.

There will be a focus on selling tickets to sports leagues and events for which DAZN holds the broadcast rights, with fans to be served “relevant events, targeted promotions, and special offers for their team’s matches.”

Among the first items offered will be hospitality packages for the 2023 Rugby World Cup and soccer’s 2024 UEFA European Championship.

The marketplace feature will initially launch in the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain before being rolled out globally.

DAZN has said the move is part of its efforts to become “the ultimate destination for sports fans” and “aggregate today’s fragmented fan experience and bring all sports-related content, services, and products into a single, frictionless consumer app.”

Its efforts in this regard have also been evidenced by plans to launch its own betting service and its intention to go beyond sports broadcasting as we know it and to integrate new interactive experiences for fans.

As part of its deal with Daimani, DAZN has the option to acquire equity in the company.

DAZN Group chief executive Shay Segev said: “The sports entertainment space is extremely fragmented with a growing number of apps and content owners. DAZN is building a frictionless super app for sports fans – a single destination platform where they can enjoy the live game and access the full range of sports-related products and services on one app, with one account and one wallet to watch, play, chat, transact, and bet.

“Partnering with Daimani marks our entrance into the ticketing business; it is great for us and, more importantly, great for our customers.”

Daimani chief exec Max Mueller added: “For us, this is a perfect opportunity: the partnership provides an end-to-end solution for sports consumers, by creating an intuitive, customer-friendly pathway to everything related to live events. It favors Daimani’s mission to make events more accessible to fans and consumers – at their fingertips.”
