Swedish Telia-owned broadcaster TV4 has extended its exclusive rights deal covering Italian soccer's top-tier Serie A.

TV4 unveiled a renewal of its existing rights deal for that 20-team league yesterday, with all games through the length of the extension to be covered by the TV4 Play streaming service.

Johan Cederqvist, TV4's sports director, commented: "We have had the rights to Serie A for many years and the league complements our football offering in a very good way.

"[It is] a league that has a long history of having many Swedish players in its clubs. We look forward to continuing to provide viewers with top international football on TV4 Play."

Swedish players currently contracted by Serie A clubs include Atalanta's Isak Hien and Udinese's Jesper Karlstrom, both of whom have represented their nation at the FIFA World Cup over the last few weeks, as well as Juventus' Emil Holm.

The 2026-27 Serie A campaign will get underway on August 22.

In terms of the league's overseas broadcast rights deals, a three-year extension with DAZN in France was announced in late June.

DAZN has extended its French partnership – which began last season – with Serie A across the 2026-27, 2027-28, and 2028-29 campaigns.

CBS in the US has also recently extended with Serie A.

Domestically, rights are currently shared between DAZN and Sky Italia through 2028-29.

TV4, meanwhile, also covers domestic Swedish soccer's Allsvenskan competition, as well as the pan-European UEFA Women's Champions League, and is also set to show next year's FIFA Women's World Cup.

Across other sports, meanwhile, it holds rights to the current cycle of the Olympic Games, as well as top ice hockey, tennis, and motorsports.
