Pan American Games to return to Lima in 2027

The Peruvian capital also staged the 2019 edition, the first time the games had ever been held in the country.

Lima in Peru has been chosen to host the 2027 Pan American Games multi-sport event for the second time in eight years.

After a two-month candidacy process, the Peruvian capital was selected ahead of Asuncion in Paraguay, securing 28 votes from the member countries of the Panam Sports organization.

A virtual vote was held, with the process carried out by British company Lumi.

Lima will also host the Parapan American Games.

The Lima 2019 organizing committee was led by Carlos Neuhaus as president.
