European soccer’s governing body UEFA has unveiled German national railway service Deutsche Bahn as the first national sponsor for the 2024 European Championship taking place on home soil.
The deal, announced today (June 12), will see Deutsche Bahn provide transport services for fans and teams, as well as offer “an unprecedented travel deal across Europe to fans and participating teams.”
All 24 teams and ticket holders from 32 European countries will have access to reduced prices for travel by train to the 10 tournament venues in Germany during the tournament, which runs from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
The agreement was brokered by the CAA11 agency, which is responsible for the worldwide sale of sponsorship and licensing rights for UEFA's men's national team competitions.
UEFA has agreed deals with four other companies to serve as national sponsors for Euro 2024 alongside Deutsche Bahn and will announce them in the coming weeks. With a year to go until the tournament, the national sponsor program is now considered by UEFA to be complete.
Nine global sponsorships have also been secured for the event, six of which have already been announced (adidas, Alipay, Atos, Lidl, Engelbert Strauss, and Vivo), either as part of the full UEFA National Team Football program or specifically for Euro 2024.
