Squash Media & Marketing (SMM), the newly created commercial entity of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) global governing body for the sport, has entered into a decade-long sponsorship deal with England Squash.
Under the agreement, SMM will manage the event delivery, marketing, promotion, and broadcast for both the British Open and British National Squash Championships until 2031.
This expands the pair’s relationship, with SMM having delivered this year’s Allam British Open and British National Squash Championships, as well as managed the social media accounts of England Squash during PSA tournaments.
Other partners of England Squash include Sport England, Dunlop, AJ Bell, and Pro Sports.
Alex Gough, chief executive at PSA, said: “We’re thrilled to continue to promote the British Open, which has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is one of the PSA World Tour’s flagship events.”
“As developing the sport outside of the PSA Tour is important to us, we are pleased to work together with England Squash as well to grow the British Nationals, a prestigious event which has a storied history."
Mark Williams, chief executive at England Squash, added: “I am confident that, together, we can create a bigger platform for the British Open and National Championships to help develop squash in England and encourage more people from all backgrounds to watch, play and support squash for years to come."
Next year’s British Open will take place from March 28 to April 3, while the British National Squash Championships are slated for June 2022, with dates to be confirmed in due course.
