Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), the US professional lacrosse competition, has announced the expansion of its partnership with home appliance brand Whirlpool.

Through the expanded tie-up, Whirlpool will aid PLL in growing interest in lacrosse and enhancing the expansion across the US through collaborative outreach programs and equipment restoration.

Whirlpool also becomes the founding partner of one of PLL’s eight teams, the Maryland Whipsnakes, making it the first company to partner with a PLL club since the league changed its format to assign home cities to each of its constituent teams.

The Whipsnakes, record two-time PLL champions, will sport Whirlpool branding on their kits as a jersey patch through the 2024 PLL season.

Furthermore, Whirlpool will hold the rights to the broadcast entitlements for the Whipsnakes’ August homecoming fixtures for when round eight of the touring competition visits the team’s home of Baltimore, Maryland.

The PLL was formally announced in 2018 as a breakaway from Major League Lacrosse, but in 2020 it was announced that the two would merge, retaining the PLL name.
