The organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have brought on board Groupe ADP, an international airport operator based in Paris, as an official commercial partner.

The group has said it will “put its expertise in terms of reception at the service of the athletes, the Olympic family, and spectators from all over the world.”

The firm will be responsible for preparing the operational management of routes and luggage and adapting its facilities with the Paris games in mind, with more than 5,000 Groupe ADP employees to be mobilized.

Groupe ADP was initially a partner of the Paris 2024 bidding team.

Tony Estanguet, Paris 2024’s president, said: “We are very pleased that Groupe ADP, already a partner during the bid phase of the project, is today renewing its commitment to Paris 2024.

“In just over a year, France will be hosting the world, and Groupe ADP's know-how and expertise in hospitality will be essential to ensure that the experience of foreign spectators and thousands of athletes gets off to the best possible start.”

Augustin de Romanet, chair and chief executive of Groupe ADP, added: “During the summer of 2024, France will be the center of the world. It is in our airports that the Games will begin and will end for many: everyone will make their first and last memories there.

“This is a magnificent challenge for the entire airport community and for our territories, and a unique opportunity to demonstrate our know-how and commitment to hospitality. Groupe ADP with all its employees, will be there to make Paris 2024 an unforgettable collective success."

Groupe ADP joins the list of official partners, which sits on the third rung of the commercial partnership ladder, underneath worldwide partners and premium partners, and above official supporters.

Other official partners include Accor, Cisco, Danone, Decathlon, Le Coq Sportif, and PWC.

In early April, Italian health and fitness equipment brand Technogym came on board as an official supporter.

The Paris 2024 Olympics will take place between July 26 and August 11 next year, with the Paralympics to follow from August 28 and September 8.
