The World Snooker Tour, organizer of that sport’s global circuit, has today (January 16) announced cryptocurrency-based casino Duelbits as a new title sponsor of three English events over the next few months.

The Duelbits Grand Prix will take place in Cheltenham from January 16 to 22 followed by the Duelbits Players Championship in Wolverhampton between February 20 and 26 and the Duelbits Tour Championship in Hull from March 27 to April 2.

For the 2023 season, these three events comprise the Duelbits Series.

Steve Dawson, chair at the World Snooker Tour, said: “We are thrilled to bring Duelbits on board for the first time, for three of our biggest tournaments. This series of events is unique because the players qualify through their performances during the season, so the players on form are rewarded and we are sure to see snooker of the highest quality.”

Ross Haffie, Duelbits’ head of sportsbook, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with WST to bring the Duelbits Series. As Steve mentions, this series rewards the best 32 players throughout the season and we see this as an ideal opportunity to grow our audience with one of the most prestigious brands in worldwide sport.”

In November, UK commercial broadcaster ITV extended its broadcast agreement with the WST, in a deal that will see it continue to air five events annually for the next two years.
