Portuguese soccer giants Benfica have today renewed their long-running main shirt sponsorship deal with Dubai-based Emirates Airline for an additional five seasons.
The extended tie-up between the two parties will now run until 2029.
Benfica claim the new contract is the “longest and most lucrative” signed to date in the club’s history with a front-of-shirt sponsor.
Emirates first became Benfica’s official airline partner in 2014 and expanded that relationship to become the club’s shirt sponsor a year later.
Boutros Boutros, Emirates executive vice president of corporate communications, marketing, and brand, has now said: “We see the extension of our partnership with Benfica as an opportunity to take the fan experience of the club’s supporters in Portugal and around the world to a new level.
“It’s also about our investment in Portugal, an integral part of our European network.”
Emirates also has long-standing shirt sponsorship deals with European soccer giants Arsenal, AC Milan, and Real Madrid.
Benfica, meanwhile, recently renewed its sleeve sponsorship agreement with sports betting company Betano through the 2026-27 season.
The Lisbon-based side’s kit is supplied by German sportswear heavyweight Adidas, another long-time partner.
Benfica began their 2024-25 season with a 2-0 defeat against Famalicão last Saturday (August 11).
