30 August 2004, Singapore : StarHub CableTV and ESPN STAR Sports are pleased to announce that an agreement has now been concluded for the continued broadcast of the English Premier League and related football programming in Singapore through to the 2006/2007 season.

The significantly higher cost of English Premier League broadcast rights in Asia was a key factor influencing the negotiation process over the past few months. Of primary concern to both parties throughout the negotiations was ensuring the enjoyment of the English Premier League remained uninterrupted and that subscription fees stayed within a price range that viewers would be prepared to accept.

Both StarHub CableTV and ESPN STAR Sports wish to thank football fans and viewers for their patience and understanding over the last few weeks while an agreement was being sought.
