Iris continues IMG rights sweep with LPGA global distribution agreement

Iris becomes the exclusive international rights distribution partner outside the US for the women's golf property.

The UK-based Iris Sport Media agency has now expanded into golf, striking a long-term deal with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

Through a tie-up unveiled today, and which starts immediately, Iris becomes the exclusive international rights distribution partner (outside of the US) for that property.

This represents another rights coup for Iris, which has been growing its portfolio significantly in recent months - the heavyweight IMG agency had held this particular set of LPGA rights for around three decades.

The all-encompassing deal entails Iris marketing and distributing rights across all types of broadcast platforms - linear networks, digital streamers, creators, and golf-specific channels.

It covers live rights to LPGA Tour events, as well as those for highlights and ancillary content.

Iris will provide "strategic advisory and full agency services" for the LPGA in this capacity.

Floris Weisz, managing partner at Iris Sport Media, stated: "Together, we will look to push beyond traditional golf channels, unlocking new audiences and driving innovative commercial opportunities across the LPGA's ecosystem. We are proud to support the LPGA in this exciting new chapter."

In terms of recent Iris rights activity, mid-February saw the agency selected as the exclusive in-ship and in-flight broadcast rights partner for the next four editions of the Olympic Games.

Iris also took over those rights from IMG (specifically, from the Sport24 service).

Liz Moore, the LPGA's chief media, strategy, and legal officer, added: "As we continue to invest in content and storytelling, we see a real opportunity to grow our global fan base and deepen engagement across key markets. IRIS brings valuable expertise and relationships in the international media landscape, and we’re excited to work together to expand the LPGA’s reach and connect more fans to our athletes and our tour.”

The LPGA brought in travel bookings and solutions firm Engine as a new commercial partner in late March.

That tour's ongoing 2026 season features 33 events across 13 countries, and a record total prize purse of over $132 million.
