A tender for domestic media rights covering the next six seasons of Danish men’s soccer’s Pokalen cup competition has been issued.

The tender process was begun earlier this week (November 1) by the Divisonsforeningen, the body that manages the commercial rights of the top-tier domestic soccer competitions in Denmark. It has a deadline for submissions of December 1 and covers the period between 2024-25 and the end of 2029-30.

Interested networks and broadcasters should send questions to, and request the tender documents from, thom@df.dbu.dk, to contact Claus Thomson (director of the Divisionsforeningen).

Currently, regional media giant Viaplay covers the Pokalen, in a tie-up running until the end of the ongoing 2023-24 campaign, as does free-to-air broadcaster DR.

The competition’s title sponsor is betting brand Oddset, through an agreement struck in July and running until the end of 2026-27.

The 2022-23 Danish Pokalen was won by FC Copenhagen.

In late August, Viaplay and commercial broadcaster TV2 snapped up rights to the next six years of the Danish Superliga.

As part of the deal, there will be live coverage of the league on the Viaplay streaming service and Viaplay Group’s TV channels until the end of the 2029-30 campaign, as well as on both TV2's linear channels and its own TV2Play streaming option.

The agreement extends the partnership between Danish soccer's top tier and Viaplay beyond 30 years, while it brings TV2 back into the fold after a lengthy period in the wilderness in terms of Superliga rights.
