ASO adds Sixt as supplier for 2026 Vuelta a España

Prominent cycling event organizer Amaury Sport Organization (ASO) has announced car rental business Sixt as the newest partner of its annual Vuelta a España (La Vuelta) ‘Grand Tour’ race.

As an official provider of La Vuelta, Sixt will support the logistics surrounding the race, offering rental vehicles across the 21 stages.

Sixt will maintain a branding presence throughout the race and additionally offer La Vuelta fans discounts on its services.

Main sponsors of the 2026 race include supermarket chain Carrefour (the event’s primary sponsor), mobile service provider Telefonica, financial services company Cofidis, lottery operator Loterisa y Apuestas del Estado, car brand Skoda, and postal service company Correos.

In terms of broadcasting, the race will be shown domestically by public-service network RTVE, and further afield by EBU member networks, as well as Warner Bros. Discovery-owned platforms.

The 2026 Vuelta a España will begin with its first stage in Monaco on August 22, with the following two stages taking place across France, and the fourth in Andorra, before venturing across Spain for the remaining 17 race days, culminating in the finale around Granada on September 13.

This will be the seventh time in the race’s 91-year history that it will start in a country outside of Spain.

In 2025, the race began in Italy, and in 2024, Portugal hosted the earliest stages, with the Netherlands (2009, 2022) and France (2017) the other international hosts in the event’s past.

In 2025, the event’s general classification was won by Danish star Jonas Vingegaard of team Visma-Lease a Bike, but the event faced persistent disruption from pro-Palestinian campaigners against the presence of the Israel-Premier Tech (IPT) team in the peloton. In the end, the final stages of the race were cancelled due to the disruption.

Now, though, IPT has been taken over by the Switzerland-registered Spain-based team NSN (Never Say Never), meaning similar disruption to the 2026 event is less likely.
