Pakistani broadcaster A Sports has snapped up rights to the upcoming 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL), Sri Lanka's premier men's Twenty20 cricket competition.

A Sports becomes the TV and digital partner in Pakistan for the five-team 2026 LPL, which will run from July 17 to August 8.

It will cover all of the competition's 24 games live, through a deal announced by Innovative Production Group (IPG), the LPL's commercial rights-holder.

A Sports has held rights to the LPL in Pakistan since 2021, with this deal coming as a renewal.

The Tamasha and Myco Digital platforms, meanwhile, will also act as live streaming hosts in Pakistan for the Sri Lankan league, in which several Pakistan players (such as Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, and Shahnawaz Dahani) will feature.

This deal comes hot on the heels of FanCode, the Indian sport-focused platform owned by Dream Sports, extending its streaming rights deal for the LPL.

Domestically, meanwhile, IPG announced a deal with SLT-Mobitel PEOTV in late May.

There was no LPL held last year, meaning the tournament's previous edition was back in 2024.

The LPL - which got underway in 2020 - is very much one of the lesser T20 franchise tournaments currently, with teams failing to attract the calibre of overseas player that other tournaments - notably the Indian Premier League - can appeal to.

As such, the tournament has often found it hard to sell overseas broadcast rights.
