The organizer of the US Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise Twenty20 tournament has extended its commercial tie-up with online remittance service provider Remitly.

Remitly thus renews as the official money transfer partner for the upcoming 2026 season of MLC, set to run across a trio of US venues between June 18 and July 18.

Remitly will continue to activate "across league and matchday platforms" over the month-long tournament, through fan engagement schemes, an in-stadia presence, as well as community-driven programming.

The initial tie-up between MLC and Seattle-based Remitly was struck ahead of the second MLC campaign in 2024.

Johnny Grave, Major League Cricket's chief executive, has commented: "Remitly has been an outstanding partner for Major League Cricket during a transformative period for our league, and this renewal reflects the strong strategic alignment between our brands. Both organizations are focused on bringing people together across borders through shared experiences, culture, and connection."

Ankur Singh, chief product and technology officer at Remitly, added: "Major League Cricket has built something incredibly authentic and culturally resonant in the U.S. sports landscape, and we’re excited to continue growing alongside the league and its fans.”

Last week, one of the six MLC franchises, the Texas Super Kings, extended their commercial agreement with energy and petroleum heavyweight Valero, and also brought in a new sponsor, in the form of Unilever coffee brand Bru.

Elsewhere in the world of franchise cricket, MI London, one of the eight franchises from English cricket's The Hundred short-form competition, have unveiled a new front-of-shirt sponsor.

The South London team have announced global payments and financial platform Sokin as their new primary shirt sponsor for the upcoming 2026 season of The Hundred.

MI London is the rebranded title for the old Oval Invincibles franchise, which was renamed as an entity following its December 2025 part-acquisition by Reliance Strategic Business Ventures (a subsidiary of Indian behemoth Reliance Industries) as part of the overall sales process for stakes in The Hundred teams last year.

This season is the first in which each team can strike their own sponsorship deals – up until this point, the England and Wales Cricket Board has been in charge of securing commercial deals.

So far, all eight teams have had brands from the KP Snacks line of products as their shirt sponsors – the Invincibles, specifically, had KP Nuts as a partner.

This deal follows hot on the heels of MI London bringing in BKT as their new sleeve sponsor.

Sokin, meanwhile, in terms of a presence in top-tier English sport, has deals in place with Premier League men's soccer sides Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.

Earlier this month, meanwhile, it unveiled a three-year deal with the athlete-backed Professional Triathletes Organization.
