TSN and RDS, the Canadian sports networks owned by multimedia firm Bell Media, have secured exclusive rights in the country to the 2024 Copa America, South America’s national teams soccer competition, being staged across the US.
Coverage of the tournament, which will take place from June 20 to July 14, 2024, will be shown via pay-TV broadcaster TSN and its streaming service TSN+, as well as RDS, which is Bell’s French-language Canadian cable sports network.
Along with live match coverage, TSN and RDS will provide news, analysis, highlights, and scores in the lead-up to the tournament.
Canada's national team are yet to qualify for the competition but will get the opportunity on March 23, 2024, when they face Trinidad and Tobago. A win by Canada will guarantee their place.
The rights add to TSN and RDS’ burgeoning portfolio of soccer rights, which includes Euro 2024 and all matches during the men’s 2026 FIFA World Cup taking place in Canada, the US, and Mexico, as well as North America’s domestic leagues, the men’s MLS and women’s NWSL, and Spanish top tier LaLiga.
Shawn Redmond, vice president of Bell Media Sports, said: “With exclusive live coverage of Copa America across TSN and RDS, and every game of Euro 2024 on TSN, we can’t wait to deliver a massive month of soccer for TSN subscribers.

By GlobalData“We join Canadian fans in cheering on Canada’s men’s national team to qualify for the tournament in March.”
The tournament, which is being held at the same time as the men’s pan-European UEFA Euro 2024 national teams competition, will stage games across 10 US states, with 32 matches played by the 16 participating teams – 10 members from South America’s Conmebol and six guest teams from North America’s Concacaf.
The USA was confirmed as the host of Copa America 2024 in January earlier this year as part of a strategic tie-up with Concacaf after Eucador opted out of organizing it due to public security issues.
That partnership will see four Conmebol women’s teams compete in the Concacaf Gold Cup W 2024 tournament, with the inaugural edition also being played in the US.
Earlier this month the governing body announced the 14 US host cities, stadiums, and match schedule for the men’s competition.
In May, meanwhile, US-based media giant TelevisaUnivision secured exclusive Spanish-language rights to air every match of the tournament across its linear and streaming services.
