DAZN, the international sports streaming platform, has doubled down on its motor sports offering in Spain, Andorra and Portugal by renewing its rights to the elite Formula 1 (F1) championships for another four years.
The renewal will see DAZN continue to air every F1 practice session, qualifying session, Sprint, and Grand Prix, in Spain, Andorra, and Portugal through the 2030 season on its platform.

The new rights package includes the second-tier Formula 2, third-tier Formula 3, women’s development series F1 Academy and the Porsche Supercup, with DAZN also delivering analysis, features, and original programming as part of its coverage.
The new contract will begin once DAZN’s current contracts in Spain (covering the 2024 to 2026 seasons) and Portugal (covering the 2025 and 2026 seasons) end after the current campaign.

The new deal comes as F1 enjoys significant growth in the region, with the series staging two Grands Prix in Spain – the Spanish Grand Prix (GP) in Barcelona (June 12 to 14) and the inaugural Madrid GP (September 11 to 13) – this year.
Meanwhile, Portugal’s race in Portimão is set to return to the F1 calendar for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
The renewal builds on DAZN’s current contract in Spain covering the 2024 to 2026 F1 seasons after taking over the rights from telecoms giant Telefonica, which held rights to F1 in a deal running from 2020 to 2023, understood to be worth €65 million ($70.97 million) annually.
DAZN, meanwhile, acquired exclusive rights in Portugal for the 2025 and 2026 F1 seasons, taking over from Sport TV, which held the rights from 2022 to 2024.

Earlier this year, DAZN announced a sublicensing deal with Mediaset España, the Spanish arm of the Italy-based broadcasting group, which will see Mediaset air the two Spanish rounds of the series – the Spanish Grand Prix (GP) in Barcelona (June 12 to 14) and the inaugural Madrid GP (September 11 to 13).
Mediaset takes over the FTA rights from Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia TV, which had a sub-licensing deal in place with DAZN to show the three home races in 2024 and 2025.
For DAZN, the new deal consolidates its motorsport offering in the region, having retained exclusive rights in Spain to motorcycling’s MotoGP World Championships until 2030, while adding rights in Portugal through 2031.
DAZN’s three-year rights renewal in Spain comes with the pair’s current five-year deal due to end in 2027 and will see DAZN continue to provide coverage of all practices, qualifying sessions, sprints, and Grand Prix races for the top-tier MotoGP, second-tier Moto2, and third-tier Moto3 live and on demand via its platform.
On top of its renewal in Spain, DAZN has acquired rights to the championship in Portugal, replacing pay-TV operator Sport TV, MotoGP’s longstanding rightsholder in the country, whose five-year contract ends at the conclusion of the 2026 season.
DAZN’s five-year contract in Portugal will see it provide the same coverage as it does in Spain through the 2031 MotoGP season.
