Swissquote, the online banking specialist, has struck a deal to become a commercial partner of the Uefa Europa League and the Uefa Europa Conference League, the second- and third-tier continental club competitions organised by European soccer’s governing body, for the next three seasons.

The partnership, arranged by Team Marketing, Uefa’s commercial partner agency in charge of rights sales, will see Swissquote receive exposure on advertising hoardings, in stadium hospitality areas and through exclusive on-site experiences at all 282 matches covered by the deal each season.

It will also benefit from “branded content visibility across the competitions’ digital and social media platforms.”

Swissquote becomes the first online bank to partner with Uefa purely for its club competitions.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, Uefa’s marketing director, said: “The introduction of the Europa Conference League represents opportunity and inclusivity. Together with the Europa League, it provides an enhanced pan-European marketing platform for brands such as Swissquote who are looking to further expand its horizons.”

Marc Burki, Swissquote’s chief executive, added: “We are very excited about this partnership, and are convinced that the strengthening of our brand in Europe will fuel our growth…

“We are also proud to be part of the exclusive club of global brands that will shape European club football as a UEFA partner in the years to come.”

Swissquote joins Just-Eat and Engelbert Strauss in signing up as a 2021-22 to 2023-24 cycle partner, with Heineken 0.0 and Hankook Tire, meanwhile, having renewed their deals from the previous three-year cycle between 2018 and 2021.

The 2021-22 Europa League and Europa Conference League enter their group stages from mid-September, having completed the qualifying rounds late last month.

Swissquote meanwhile is also a partner of English soccer giants Manchester United, and of local team Servette, from the Swiss Super League.
