International sailing series SailGP has renewed its commercial deal with mineral wool products firm Rockwool ahead of the second race of its fourth season.
Through a multi-year tie-up, the company becomes the title partner of the Danish SailGP team, as well as title sponsor of the Italy Sail Grand Prix race. That event, this season, will take place on September 23 and 24 in Taranto. Rockwool will also put its name to SailGP events in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
This will mark the second time that Rockwool acts as title sponsor for the Italy SailGP event, after first doing so in 2021.
It has acted as presenting sponsor for the Danish team, meanwhile, ever since the side was unveiled in December 2019.
Mirella Vitale, senior vice president for group marketing, communications, and public affairs at Rockwool, said: “We’re excited to partner with SailGP to present the Rockwool Italy Sail Grand Prix, an event where we will put coastal city health at the forefront of the discussion both in Italy, and beyond,”
Fiona Morgan, SailGP’s chief purpose officer, added: “It’s fantastic that Rockwool, one of the world’s most sustainable companies, is reaffirming its commitment to SailGP, as we begin a new chapter in our long-term partnership.
