Qatari state-owned airline Qatar Airways is set to be the official airline partner and title sponsor of this year's FIA World Endurance Championship motor racing series opener in that country.

Qatar will host the 12th FIA World Endurance Championship’s (WEC) season opener from February 29 to March 2, 2024, at the Lusail International Circuit just outside the city of Lusail. The race will last nearly 10 hours.

The World Endurance Championship’s twelfth season will take place across eight countries over four continents, with participation from manufacturers such as Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Isotta Fraschini, Lamborghini, Lexus, and McLaren.

Last December, Qatar Airways announced a six-year global partnership with Asian soccer's Asian Football Confederation (AFC) governing body.

The airline will serve as the official global partner of the AFC covering all AFC international competitions through 2029.
