English rugby union’s top-tier Premiership Rugby has secured a new sponsorship deal with online trading platform eToro ahead of the 2023-24 season.
The deal will see eToro gain in-stadium branding at all Premiership Rugby matches and on-screen graphics during games aired by domestic commercial broadcaster ITV.
ITV holds rights in the UK to show seven live Premiership Rugby games free-to-air, including the final, and a weekly highlights program during the 2023-24 season as part of its broadcast deal struck with the league in January 2022.
The league's main domestic broadcast partner is pay-TV operator BT Sport which holds the rights until the end of 2023-24.
As part of the new agreement, eToro will also sponsor the ‘Premiership Predictor’ infographic, which will offer insights and predictions through the campaign. The infographic will feature both on-screen in broadcasts and via social media.
The trading platform will also run a fan competition offering four tickets to next season’s Premiership Rugby Final at Twickenham.

By GlobalDataMark Brittain, chief commercial officer at Premiership Rugby, said: “eToro has a proven commitment to sports sponsorship and we are thrilled to begin this relationship with one of the leading trading platforms.
“This partnership will see Premiership Rugby reach exciting new audiences as our league continues to attract the next generation of fans to our sport.”
The new deal adds to eToro’s wide portfolio of sports sponsorship, which includes English Premier league soccer clubs Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace.
The company also holds home match naming rights in a deal with the Rugby Australia governing body.
Stephanie Wilks-Wiffen, director of marketing at eToro, said: “eToro has built on its community of investors and rugby is a sport with community at its heart. This natural synergy makes it a perfect partnership for us as we look to build on the sports sponsorship presence, we’ve already established across European club football and international rugby.
“Working with such a prestigious and high-profile partner as Premiership Rugby means more exposure and hopefully, greater participation for both parties.”
Premiership Rugby is gearing up for a “relaunch” under a new strategy in the 2024-25 season as it seeks to bounce back from a difficult period off the field due largely to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Wasps and Worcester Warriors recently went out of business and were relegated from the top flight, which has raised questions about the league’s governance. More recently, London Irish became the third team to file for administration due to financial issues.
