North American golf’s elite-tier PGA Tour, and its women’s equivalent LPGA Tour, have announced a multi-year partnership with South Korean travel and lifestyle luggage brand Tumi.
Tumi will serve as the official luggage partner of both golf tours, and to honor the partnership will activate around the upcoming PGA trade show to drive awareness of the partnership.
Through the deal, Tumi will create an official luggage range based around the partnership, including Tumi-designed golf bags, as well as a range of golfing accessories such as club covers.
The collaboration’s range of both golf and travel bags will vary in price from $795 to $1,595, with the accessories coming in between $125 and $650. The products will be available globally on Tumi’s website, as well as in select Tumi physical locations.
LPGA Tour commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan stated: “As a global tour with stops in 10 countries worldwide, Tumi's innovative golf collection is a perfect match for the LPGA, and our partnership will reflect the spirit of determination, quality, and style that defines both the LPGA and Tumi.”
Andre Dawson, Tumi president, added: “At Tumi, we are always evolving to meet the needs and interests of our consumers and like-minded audiences. Serving our community of both competitive and leisure athletes was a deliberate yet authentic next step for our brand.”
The partnership is not Tumi’s first foray into the sports industry.
The brand is already a partner of English Premier League soccer side Tottenham Hotspur, Formula 1 motor racing team McLaren, and the elite tennis player labor union the Professional Tennis Players Association.
Despite the growth of the breakaway golf tour LIV Golf, meanwhile, the PGA Tour is still a dominant force in world golf, and one that continues to maintain a global presence.
In November, UK pay-TV heavyweight Sky renewed its rights to cover golf’s US PGA Championship for the next three editions, while expanding its deal to cover the US Senior PGA Championship between 2024 and 2026.
Sky’s extensive golf portfolio in the UK and Ireland covers all four men’s major tournaments, as well as all women’s majors, the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup Europe vs USA competitions, as well as the DP World Tour, Ladies European Tour, and LPGA Tour.
