
Franklin Sports, the sports goods manufacturer, and Major League Baseball (MLB), have announced an extension to their long-term partnership, now entering its 40th year.
The Massachusetts brand will continue as the MLB’s official on-field batting gloves, official sliding gloves, and a strategic youth participation partner.
Franklin Sports will also continue supporting the MLB’s Play Ball and Play Ball Weekend global youth initiatives which aims to increase participation in both baseball and softball.
Tony Reagins, chief baseball development officer at MLB, said: “Franklin Sports has been a staple in baseball for 40 years. Throughout our partnership, Franklin Sports has been invaluable in our efforts to build the foundation for the future of sport.”
Franklin has deals with 250 active MLB athletes who wear its batting gloves, including New York Mets’ Francisco Lindor, St. Louis Cardinals’ Paul Goldschmidt, Cincinnati Reds’ Elly De La Cruz, and Pittsburgh Pirates’ Ke’Bryan Hayes.
