Metabilia, the sports memorabilia and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) company, has been named as the latest supplier on the DraftKings Marketplace, the exchange for sports-related NFTs that was launched by the US fantasy sports and betting provider last year.
The partnership, announced yesterday (May 3), will see Metabilia release regular NFT series on the DraftKings Marketplace.
It will also supply ‘membership NFTs’ celebrating the careers of top young athletes through which buyers will receive long-term benefits, such as additional NFTs and event invitations.
Joseph A. De Perio, chief executive of Metabilia, explained: “At Metabilia, we are focused on delivering NFT collectible programs that deliver high-quality benefits for the long term, and our membership NFT programs allow fans to show their support for a young athlete and be a part of his or her journey.
“As part of the strategic relationship, DraftKings Marketplace will be the exclusive distributor of authentic Metabilia NFTs that also incorporate historical pieces of game-used collectibles, career achievements, and more.”
The debut collection launches today (May 4) and will feature Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ronald Acuña Jr., Shane Bieber, Wander Franco, Joe Musgrove, and Fernando Tatís Jr., of the US’ Major League Baseball.
