EY, the international consultancy firm, will continue as the official sustainability partner of Extreme E, the all-electric off-road motor racing competition, after renewing its sponsorship agreement.
The deal, which will run through the end of the 2024 Extreme E season, will see EY continue to aid the competition in minimizing carbon emissions and environmental impact on the terrains it races across by informing the competition’s strategy and planning.
EY will continue to help produce the competition’s annual sustainability report and collaborate with the competition on talks and panel discussions surrounding sustainability.
Extreme E first partnered with EY in December 2020 ahead of its inaugural season and in March 2023 advanced the partnership to serve as official sustainability partner through the end of the 2023 season, a contract that has now been extended.
Extreme E managing director Ali Russell stated of the renewed deal: “EY has been imperative in our work towards minimizing our impact at race locations and leaving a lasting positive legacy. The new initiatives introduced in 2023 were a brilliant addition to race weekends as they help keep Extreme E at the forefront of sustainable impact.”
EY global climate change & sustainability services leader Matt Bell added: “EY is thrilled to continue its collaboration as Extreme E’s official sustainability partner this year. EY teams’ knowledge, capabilities, and insight around climate change, sustainability, and broader environmental impact means that this collaboration is underpinned by a shared commitment, passion, and sense of purpose.”
