eToro, the online trading platform, has broadened its footprint in soccer after announcing sponsorship deals with eight top-flight Italian Serie A clubs.

The company has added Bologna, Cagliari, Genoa, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Spezia, Udinese and Verona to its partnership portfolio for the remainder of the season.

As an official partner of the eight clubs, eToro will benefit from a range of marketing opportunities including matchday LED boards, media backdrops, tickets and digital rights.

In addition, it has agreed an LED-only deal with newly-promoted Salernitana.

eToro’s biggest sponsorship presence is in England’s Premier League, and in recent weeks it has secured deals with Arsenal and Leeds United, which joined Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Newcastle United in the platform’s Premier League stable.

The platform also has agreements with top-tier clubs in Germany, France, Czech Republic, Romania, Netherlands and Denmark.

Emanuela Manor, Italian regional manager at eToro, said: “eToro believes that sponsorships are a powerful tool for connecting with the communities at the very heart of a sport. With more people than ever engaging with the capital markets this year, financial education has never been so important.

“We will be working with the clubs to make the financial markets more accessible, bringing fans closer to the action and educating them on investing.”
